Assistant Professor in Music (Tenure Track)
The Music and Theater Arts Section of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, located in Cambridge, Massachusetts, invites applications for a full-time Assistant Professor (Tenure Track) with a specialty in composition, broadly defined. Position to begin July 1, 2025, or on a mutually agreed date thereafter. The Section offers supportive mentorship to junior faculty and seeks individuals who practice collaboration, empathy, and self-reflection in the service of sustaining an inclusive and welcoming academic culture. The successful candidate will teach subjects in composition, and related topics, in the existing curriculum and will subsequently develop new course offerings in line with their interests and the needs of the Section.
